Three Strategies to Improve the Climate for Arts & Culture in Wyoming

SAGE Community Arts, Sheridan, WY – The upcoming Wyoming Arts Summit is set to feature an inspiring breakout session titled “Three Strategies to Improve the Climate for Arts & Culture in Wyoming.” Scheduled for Friday, October 27, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at SAGE Community Arts in Sheridan. This session promises to be a dynamic exploration of how arts and cultural practitioners can effect positive change in the state.

Arts and culture have long been integral to Wyoming’s identity, and this breakout session will delve into vital approaches that connect arts and culture with the broader community, engaging with friends, neighbors, and elected officials to champion Wyoming’s rich creative heritage. The goal is to collaboratively shape a vibrant future that resonates with all Wyoming residents.

Wyoming State Representative Cyrus Western (District 51) will be a highlight of the session, providing valuable insights into effective communication between artists, cultural advocates, and state lawmakers. As the representative for House District 51, Western brings a unique perspective to the discussion, focusing on how artists and concerned citizens can effectively engage with state legislators who play a pivotal role in funding public arts programs and grants.

Andrew Schneider, Director of Operations at the Wyoming Arts Alliance (WyAA), will lead a dynamic discussion on harnessing creative communities’ power to foster positive change. Schneider brings a wealth of experience from his background in community development and nonprofit leadership, and he will share recent examples from Wyoming that demonstrate the potential for positive transformation.

“We are thrilled to host this breakout session as part of the Wyoming Arts Summit,” said Sarita Talusani Keller, Board Member of the Wyoming Arts Alliance. “Artists, policymakers, and community members alike will gain valuable insights on advocating for and nurturing the arts and culture that make Wyoming such a unique and vibrant state.”
